About this item

Pipe freeze protection with temperature control

VEVOR self-regulating pipe heating cables help protect exposed water pipes in cold weather. Choose the heating length that matches your installation, from 3 ft to 120 ft. Each listed North American model has a built-in thermostat and a separate power lead.

How the cable works

  • The self-regulating heating core changes its output as the surrounding temperature changes.
  • The thermostat starts heating at approximately 43°F (6°C) and stops at approximately 55°F (13°C).
  • Pre-assembled cable and plug simplify connection; the thermostat must remain in contact with the pipe.

Choose the right configuration

Measure the pipe run and allow for valves and fittings. Pipe material, diameter, insulation and the lowest expected temperature affect the required cable length and routing. Use the model's installation instructions and sizing chart before selecting a length. The orange power lead is separate from the heating section.

Model and SKU specifications

Installation, compatibility and care

Install on the outside of accessible metal or plastic water pipes. Follow the supplied manual for cable routing, thermostat placement, fixing tape, insulation and electrical protection. Use a ground-fault-protected outlet sheltered from water. The manual excludes use inside pipes, underground installation, roof or gutter deicing, and flexible vinyl tubing. Inspect the cable before use and remove damaged cable from service.

Buying questions

Does the selected length include the power cord?

No. The selected length is the heating section; the listed North American models have a separate 3 ft power lead.

Will the cable heat continuously?

No. The built-in thermostat responds to pipe temperature, starting near 43°F and stopping near 55°F. The heating core also regulates its output.

Does a lit plug mean the cable is actively heating?

No. The manual states that the plug light indicates power is connected; the thermostat controls heating.

Can the heating cable go inside a pipe or be used for gutter deicing?

No. The manufacturer's instructions specify external water-pipe protection and exclude both applications.

Is the same package supplied with every length?

Package lists differ by configuration. Use the verified configuration-specific list above, rather than assuming all accessories shown in an illustration are included.
